Clearly, teachers today must demonstrate that we are motivated learners, not only as a model for our students, but also to best understand the changes taking place in our world so that we can better prepare our students for their future. Now is not a time for complacency. The future of Lutheran education depends upon it!
One common complaint is that there is not enough time in the day to engage in extra learning. To an extent that is true, and savvy administrators know that investing time in educators who have the desire to innovate has an enormous payoff. However, in the 21st century, each of us is more responsible than ever for our own learning and professional growth, so we each have the ability to make this more of a priority than we have in the past.
Sure that may move us outside of our comfort zone, but won't that help us be better learners. And if we are better learners, we are bound to be better teachers as well!
