I appreciated this post from Will about copyright law, and it got me thinking about this subject once again. I absolutely want to follow copyright law, and I want my students to be empowered to do the same. I just wish that there was an easy primer for educators on copyright law. Most documents I have seen are long, confusing, and detailed, where the vast majority of copyright issues might be covered by a quick seven or eight point list. That would make it much easier for sharing copyright concerns with colleagues as well as students. My bookmarks contain lost of information on copyright law, but little that is truly clear for the average person.
Is anyone else aware of such a document or primer? If so, I would love to hear about what you use to teach about copyright.
I do use some of the Power to Learn animations with students to discuss some of these issues from a God-pleasing perspective. Any other good resources out there? Feel free to email me with links to good resources, or share them as a comment to this post.
