Here is a links list of things I've come across recently on the Internet relating to technology and education:
- Want a brief introduction to wikis and an explanation of their value in education. Click here for an online version of a conference presentation.
- You have heard of YouTube. Now here is TeacherTube, with video clips of lessons being taught. Talk about extending the classroom! What would happen if a group of teachers in Lutheran schools put together a series of short lessons in video format to exchange with other schools. The experts in our buildings on different topics would have the opportunity to share their expertise with a larger audience. Lesson plans and discussion questions could be built along with the video. The possibilities are seemingly endless.
- This may or may not be related strictly to education, but I've been enjoying exploring a little with LibraryThing. I guess the best way to describe this site is that it is a social networking site for book lovers, where one may find new books of interest, read reviews, and even share books you have enjoyed with others. For instance, here is a list of books tagged as those relating to educational technology. It is an interesting list. When will I find time to read all of those!
