Here is a list from PC Magazine about the most commonly used passwords. That got me thinking about the list of skills we need to be teaching our students related to the online world:
- Internet safety
- Dealing with cyberbullying
- Computer security
- Creating passwords
- Analyzing Internet sources
- Social networking and posting Internet content
- Plagiarism and copyright law

Rob Jacklin and I have been having posting back and forth on the topic of teaching problem solving through programming. It has been a busy couple of weeks. I was the best man at my dad's wedding. I also had the honor of witnessing my dad being honored as the Alumnus of the Year at Concordia University Chicago. At school, there evening activities several nights a week as we finish the year. We are also in the midst of printing and binding our school yearbook before the end of classes.
Therefore, it has been tough keeping up with blogging. However, even if no one else notices when I don't blog, I notice. Blogging is a discipline that not only provides a forum for sharing information for others, but also gives me the incentive to keep learning and growing myself. After all, if I'm not learning anything new, how can I have anything relevant to share with others?
