Some of you might be interested in this article which reviews software alternatives to using Microsoft Office. More schools today are using tools other than those from Microsoft in their buildings for a variety of reasons.

I have a teacher inservice prepared for tomorrow. You may view what we plan to discuss here. We have not talked much about technological philosophy together as a faculty, so this inservice is designed to engage us in discussions where we work together to try to make sense of the changes in this world and within education that we all face.

As you may have noticed, I've been silent through my blog over the past couple of weeks. There appears to be an ebb and flow of blogging, one where ideas rush forward at times but also one where the idea well runs dry from time to time. Looks like I've been experiencing the latter the past two weeks. I once again need to re-commit to this forum. Even if there are few people who actually read this blog, the illusion that people are counting on me for fresh content spurs me to move forward with my own professional growth. This is the primary reason why I blog. I do this as a part of my own professional growth. If I grow in my teaching and technology integration, then I can also better help and encourage others on the same path.

Here is a review of the latest incarnation of Google Documents. Obviously, there is a lot going for this program and service. I find myself using it more all the time, especially for collaboration across the miles.
