Recently, I revised my personal mission statement when updating my resume. This statement is:
To serve God first through service to my family, and to serve God’s Kingdom through the ministry doors He opens before me.
If this truly is my personal mission to be embraced, how does blogging fit in. Is the opportunity to regularly self-publish a door that has opened before me? Is blogging a ministry to others, or even to myself through the things I learn in research and when preparing posts?
Certainly God has blessed me with the opportunity to live in an age when any of us can share what we see and know, adding value to the ministry to others in the process. I certainly feel compelled to help others in this way. But is a blog the best forum for doing that, or are there other more effective ways to share with others?
I guess I'm struggling with the question of how to best serve the Lord with the time He gives me. Is blogging a good use of time, either for others or for my own personal and professional development. Thoughts?
