It sure seems as if this type of asynchronous connection is what is needed in this day and age. With the pace of our lives, it isn't always possible for people to gather in one place at one set time. Therefore, the model used by the K12 Online Conference is increasingly popular. Similarly, this probably explains the proliferation of online courses as well. People want to be able to work on their own time and not some pre-set period.
I doubt whether many people have thought about asynchronous opportunities being offered by Lutheran elementary and high schools, but is that future really that far away? Are there things that we can be doing to better meet the needs of 21st century students and families.
I know that the Lutheran School Portal and LEA are both looking to provide meaningful asynchronous content for educators. I can envision us providing these types of opportunities for our own students in the very near future.
